About me
I was born in Antalya in 1979. After completing primary, secondary and high school education in Antalya, I started my medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1996. After graduating in 2002, I started my specialization in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine. After my specialization, I worked as a specialist physician for 2.5 years as part of the state obligation service at Ankara Dr Zekai Tahir Burak Training and Research Hospital in 2008. First, I continued my academic studies as an assistant professor at Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 1.5 years, and then I started working at Akdeniz Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in January 2013. Between January 2015 and December 2016, I completed my postgraduate specialization in gynecological oncology at the Asklepios Clinic Harburg Gynecological Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery Clinic affiliated with the University of Hamburg, Germany. In this center, I had the chance to treat a wide variety of cancer patients from all over Europe and Germany under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Christhardt Köhler. In March 2015, I successfully passed the Associate Professorship exam and earned the title of Associate Professor. Between October 2018 and March 2020, I worked part-time at Private Anadolu Hospital in addition to my position at Akdeniz University. In October 2020, I was appointed as a Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Akdeniz Faculty of Medicine. On August 21, 2020, I was appointed as the Deputy Chief Physician at Akdeniz University Hospital. I continued this position until January 2024, and after this date, I left my duties at the university and started serving our patients in my own clinic.
My areas of interest are minimally invasive surgery in gynecological cancers, fertility-sparing surgeries, ultraradical surgery for advanced ovarian cancers and endometriosis surgery. I have 81 English articles, 31 Turkish articles and three international book authorships published in reputable journals indexed in PUBMED. I am a referee in many gynecological oncology and general obstetrics journals.
